• Preliminary Requirements

    The following is mandatory in order to sign an electronic notary deed
    A private email address for each signer
    A computer, tablet or smartphone with internet connection, webcam and microphone
    A phone for the reception of verification code
  • Prepare for the Meeting

    How to Prepare for the Meeting
    Make sure you are in a calm and private environment.
    If you are not alone, use earphones.
    You will be asked to show two pieces of IDs (Driver’s licence, Medicare Card, Passport, etc.). You will need to provide copies to the Notary in advance.
    Be close to your phone for reception of a secondary verification code.
  • Virtual Meeting

    You will receive an email invitation to join a virtual meeting on Microsoft Teams                     
    Microsoft Teams is compatible with PC, MAC, Android and iOS devices.
    You will be invited as a “guest” and will not have to make an account.
    For most devices, you do not need to download the application. You can join the meeting through the web application.

    However, if you are using a tablet or safari browser, you will be asked to download the application. You do not need to make an account. Once downloaded, simply go back to the email invitation and “Join the Meeting”.

    The Notary may ask you to share your screen by selecting this share screen Icon.

  • How to Sign Electronically

    You will receive an email to access your document on the ConsignO-CNQ platform                       
    The sender is “Votre Notaire”.
    During the Virtual Meeting, the Notary will inform you when you may access the signing platform. To access the document, you will receive a secondary verification code on your phone.
    By law, the Notary must be able to observe you performing the necessary steps to sign the legal document.
    Sign by clicking on “Approve and Sign”.
    Once signed by all the parties, the legal document is secure and inalterable.
